How the laser is chosenWhy most lasers fail on darker skin
Laser works by heating the pigment in hair. Darker skin carries more pigment of its own, so the wrong wavelength heats the skin along with the hair.
Safe treatment of darker skin depends on several factors, however the two main things are: the right laser and a provider who knows how to use it. Not every laser is designed for deeper skin tones, and not every technician is experienced with the ones that are.
Crystal has both the equipment and the expertise to treat every shade of skin with care.
Gray, blonde or very fine hair? Laser can’t see it. Electrolysis removes it permanently, one follicle at a time.

Laser areas are treated every 6 to 8 weeks, so if you pick laser two months in a row, we'll rotate to different areas.

Before your first visit
Is laser safe for dark skin?
With the right laser and settings, yes. A longer wavelength reaches the follicle without overheating skin pigment, and your settings are matched to your skin at your consult.
How many sessions will I need?
Most clients need 8 to 12 sessions, spaced 6 to 8 weeks apart, because hair grows in cycles. You leave your free consult with a plan for your areas.
Laser or electrolysis?
Laser treats larger areas fast and reduces hair long term. Electrolysis removes hair permanently, one follicle at a time, and works on any hair color.
Does it hurt?
Most clients describe laser as a quick snap against the skin. Electrolysis feels like a brief warm pinch.
How do I prepare?
Shave the area the day before. Skip waxing, plucking and tanning between sessions, and tell us about any medication that makes your skin sun-sensitive.
